Help Build the New Reno To Rim Trail While you Ski This Winter!
Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has joined with the Sierra Front Recreation Coalition, the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, the USFS Carson Ranger District and Washoe County to help build the Reno to Rim Trail, a new world class trail that will connect Reno to the Tahoe Rim Trail near Mt. Rose.
Completion of this roughly
sixteen mile long trail is
a huge collaborative undertaking
that will benefit all of
us who love outdoor recreation and treasure our beautiful Sierra
Front region! Your $5.00 contribution
during our September Season
Pass sale will help bring
the Reno to Rim closer to
reality.
What’s new since last year?
In June, flagging parties headed up by Tahoe Rim Trail Crew leaders with assistance from the USFS Carson Ranger District, began the strenuous but exciting work of determining the potential route of the new Reno to Rim Trail! Donations and grants will help pay for the required environmental assessment process, which will commence once the route is finalized. After that, actual trail work can begin!
The Sierra Front Recreation
Coalition is made up of local organizations, businesses, and individuals
who are joining forces to invest in the public lands and recreational
opportunities that contribute so much to our quality of life. For
the Reno to Rim Trail, Sierra Front Recreation Coalition members
such as Washoe County Parks and Open Space, the Tahoe Rim Trail
Association, and the US Forest Service Humboldt-Toiyabe National
Forest are all working together to design and build this world-class
trail to serve the visitors and local populations who love the Sierra
Front.
